Springfield, Illinois (22 August 2019) – The BRANDT Foundation awarded four grants to charitable organizations at its regularly-scheduled July meeting.
The July 2019 grantees, all 501(c)3 organizations in good standing for the past three years, boast close ties to the Ag industry and local communities in California and Illinois.
- California Foundation for Agriculture in the Classroom – The BRANDT Foundation grant will be used to help produce an educational newspaper that will circulate to more than 1 million students in California classrooms.
- Historic Marbold Farmstead Association – With this grant, the Association will continue the restoration process of the Marbold farmhouse to its original appearance, looking as it did during the time of the Farmstead’s operation in the early 1900s.
- IAA Foundation – The BRANDT Foundation grant to the IAA Foundation will be used to produce Teacher Book Grants, an incentive for free classroom books to educators to ensure that agriculture education doesn’t get left out of lesson plans for students.
- YMCA of Springfield – This grant from The BRANDT Foundation will go towards the YMCA of Springfield’s Strong Kids Scholarship Fund. The scholarships are designated to provide assistance to the community’s neediest members, addressing the inequalities that low-income individuals face.
“We continue to give back through The BRANDT Foundation,” said Rick Brandt, President & CEO of BRANDT. “This funding period, we were able to fund a wide range of organizations that focus on everything from history to education. These organizations are making a difference in the Ag industry and our local communities.”
All grants are connected to the local communities where BRANDT does business. The mission of The BRANDT Foundation is “to provide meaningful assistance and support to the communities, farms and families where BRANDT has facilities.”
The BRANDT Foundation is a private foundation, funded through donations from BRANDT, Inc. and BRANDT employees.
