Springfield, Illinois (21 December 2017) – The BRANDT Foundation awarded seven grants to charitable organizations at its regularly-scheduled December meeting, continuing its effort of doing well by doing good.
The December 2017 grantees, all 501(c)3 organizations in good standing for the past three years, include a range of organizations with close ties to the local Illinois and national Ag communities:
- The American Heart Association
- Central Illinois Foodbank
- The Hope Institute
- The Illinois 4-H Foundation
- The Illinois FFA Alumni Association
- The Sangamon Conservancy Trust
- The Progressive Agriculture Foundation
“I’m so proud of the work we are doing through The BRANDT Foundation,” said Rick Brandt, President & CEO of BRANDT. “This year, we funded organizations that are new to us, like the Sangamon Conservancy Trust, while continuing to fund cornerstone Ag organizations like the Illinois 4-H Foundation and the Illinois FFA Alumni Association.”
All the grants are connected to the local communities where BRANDT does business. This is the fourth year, for example, that the BRANDT Foundation funded the Illinois 4-H Foundation. In the past, 4-H used its grants to help students with various gardening projects. This year, the BRANDT Foundation grant will go toward a new Ag Tech program that will enable youth to learn the fundamentals of UAV flight, mechanics and operations, building knowledge in the field of precision Ag.
The mission of The BRANDT Foundation is “to provide meaningful assistance and support to the communities, farms and families where BRANDT has facilities.”
The BRANDT Foundation is a private foundation, funded through donations from BRANDT, Inc. and BRANDT employees. The BRANDT Foundation is currently holding a funding campaign for the Memorial Medical Center Foundation.
